Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Jill Jones began riding at the age of six and quickly stood out for her natural talent and poise in the equitation ring. Under the guidance of respected South Florida Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Jill Jones began riding at the age of six and quickly stood out for her natural feel and focus in the saddle. Under the guidance of respected instructor Rita Flynn, Jill’s riding career took off. Weekly lessons soon evolved into horse ownership and a packed show schedule, where she earned numerous year-end equitation championships throughout her junior years. Recognizing Jill’s strong potential and dedication, Rita introduced her to leading professionals including Olympian Margie Goldstein and Jan Francis, helping Jill further refine her skills and competitive presence.

After earning a degree in biology, Jill moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Though she initially pursued other paths, a volunteer opportunity at Chastain Horse Park reignited her love for the sport. That spark launched a 14-year professional teaching career at Chastain, where Jill developed a reputation for producing high-achieving, confident, and well-rounded riders. Her students regularly qualified for and competed at the nation’s most prestigious events, including Pony Finals, USEF Medal Finals, Maclay Finals, and elite indoor shows like the Capital Challenge, Pennsylvania National, Washington International, and The National Horse Show.

Under her coaching, multiple riders advanced to Division I collegiate equestrian teams, including Leah Pharr, Megan Flanagan, and Josey Walker at the University of Georgia, Anne Mason Jackson at Southern Methodist University, and Ally Schofield at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Jill’s riders have earned zone and national titles, year-end high-point awards, and top placings in equitation and medal classes across the country.

Her technical expertise is matched by her personal approach. Jill is known not only for her high standards and precision but also for her upbeat energy, humor, and ability to make lessons fun and engaging. Her students often describe her as someone who makes hard work feel exciting and turns every ride into a positive, productive experience.

After her time at Chastain, Jill successfully ran her program at several premier facilities including Three Bears Farm in Cartersville, Seven C’s Farm, and West Creek Stables in Powder Springs. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, we are thrilled to welcome her and Jill Jones Hunter Jumpers to Four Oaks.

At Four Oaks, Jill continues to bring out the best in every horse and rider, offering expert instruction in the hunter, equitation, and jumper disciplines. Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for collegiate or national competition, Jill’s positive coaching style, deep knowledge, and love for the sport create an environment where both riders and horses thrive.
